Crying Cycle 1

In 2024, Daniel Matos & João Catarino began a video collection entitled The Crying Cycles, a trilogy based on a reflection on the present time and how they see the need for detachment and abandonment so that a total new beginning is possible, an idea of freedom that is constantly changing and about which we can’t find a concrete definition or image.
At the beginning, they realise that it’s necessary to wipe their eyes with the water that falls on them, to see the abyss in the abyss, to take a deep breath and run away to get there. All they wanted was a motorbike, a motorbike that would take everything with it and bring them back to who they are in the midst of the rubble.
In the video-dance Crying Cycle 1, Daniel Matos and João Catarino offer a path to see with washed-out eyes.
